Jiwan Larouche est artiste en métiers d’art. Issu.e du monde de la marionnette et du théâtre, iel développe une pratique sculpturale et installative où se rencontrent les univers humains, végétaux et animaux. Ancrée dans une relation directe à la matière et aux savoir-faire, sa démarche explore la fluidité des identités, la diversité des corps et les relations sensibles entre le vivant et les paysages habités, à travers une approche incarnée nourrie par les expériences corporelles.
Son travail a été présenté dans des expositions solo et collectives à travers le Québec et fait l’objet d’acquisitions par des collections institutionnelles.
Récipiendaire de plusieurs distinctions, dont le prix de la relève professionnelle 2025, le Prix Matéria, le Prix de la MMAQ et le Prix Coup de cœur Télé-Québec (2022), Jiwan a également participé au 43e Symposium international d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul. Iel est technicien·ne de l’atelier de métal à L’Œil de Poisson et s’implique activement en médiation et mentorat artistique.

Jiwan Larouche is a craft-based artist. Coming from a background in puppetry and theatre, they develop a sculptural and installation-based practice where human, plant, and animal worlds intersect. Rooted in a direct relationship with materials and traditional know-how, their work explores the fluidity of identities, the diversity of bodies, and sensitive relationships between living beings and inhabited landscapes, through an embodied approach informed by bodily experience.
Their work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions across Quebec and has been acquired by institutional collections.
Recipient of several distinctions, including the Professional Emerging Artist Award (2025), the Matéria Award, the MMAQ Award, and the Télé-Québec Jury’s Choice Award (2022), Jiwan also participated in the 43rd International Symposium of Contemporary Art in Baie-Saint-Paul. They work as a metal workshop technician at L’Œil de Poisson and are actively involved in artistic mediation and mentorship.
